The Cooper House

The Cooper House, about 50 feet from the Waterfall House, is the oldest building on the property. Built in 1747, it is a charming, rustic annex which accommodates up to 12 people in a dormitory style setting. On the ground floor are 2 double beds. 8 single beds are available on the second floor. It is ideal for larger groups looking to offer more casual and informal accommodations.

Guests at the Cooper House share the kitchen, washroom facilities and outdoor showers of the Inn.

Three houses - three possibilities

Although the Waterfall House is the main house on the property, there are two other houses on the 50 acre estate: the Cooper House and the Sparrow House -- all of which can be rented separately or together. Between the three houses, there are accommodations for up to 47 people in both private bedrooms and dormitory style settings.

The Waterfall House

Built as roadside inn in 1852, the Victorian-era Waterfall House is the main house on the property. For many years it was the private residence of artists from New York City, who lovingly restored the place while leaving it's unique poetic elegance and extraordinary character intact. With a huge "Great Hall" on the second floor, a "Dance Hall" on the ground floor, and a period bar and adjoining game room (with both a pool and regulation shuffleboard table) the Waterfall House is a historic gathering place that has been used for countless festivities, celebrations and gatherings for over 150 years.

Around the Great Hall are five bedrooms which sleep 14; there is also an enclosed porch off the Dance Hall that sleeps another 4. For those planning for an extra big group, we also have a supply of handmade Thai bedrolls for any overflow. With the windows open Kenguragara Falls can be heard from most rooms in the house -- a sound that's been known to lull you to the sweetest, deepest sleep imaginable.

There are 3.5 bathrooms and 2 outdoor showers overlooking the top of the Falls; and The Waterfall House is surrounded by open fields and meadows where you are welcome to lounge, relax and while away the day.

The Sparrow House

The Sparrow House emulates the spirit of the Waterfall House on a smaller scale, complete with vintage wallpapers, eclectic furniture, and it's own path down to Kenhuragara Falls. With two bathrooms, central heat, a wainscot paneled kitchen, a Victorian side porch, hummingbird feeders, a hammock under an apple tree, and a spectacular view of the valley, it has the feel of a private bungalow getaway.

It sleeps 5 in 2.5 bedrooms (one with a full bed and the other with both a full bed and single bed).
